"On my summer vacation..." Thus begins a new chapter in my journey now living and serving as Incumbent of the Anglican Parish of St. Mark. It has been an amazing time, during which I assumed that things might "slow down" and we could take in lazy, hay days at the beach. Nothing could be further from the truth! Let's begin with St. Mark's Fair - what a joy to watch as the members of the parish joined in working to provide a glorious day. Books, pies and china treasures were but the saleable items, while the priceless items were the fun and fellowship provided to the whole Oceanside community. Even our own Rev. Michael Deck got into the fun with his banjo, Jane Clelland and her team provided information about Opioid crisis, and on a lighter note... there was a golf card ride (I think Stuart Elliot won!).
On a personal note, in my family there are two August baby birthday parties - don't tell Mom that I showed you her favorite gift of golf balls so that she can putt on the green behind her home in Vancouver.
Thank you everyone for being so faithful in your worship and summertime prayers - here's looking ahead to a wonderful fall.
