Celebrating the ministry of all the baptized - Saturday, October 21th at the Cathedral in Victoria, a number of people from our Parish of St. Mark joined in celebration of the first members of the "Order of the Diocese of British Columbia". Our own Nancy Chishoilm was honoured in recognition of the many years of service to both her church and community. We join with Nancy and her family to give thanks for her ministry and faithfulness to God's calling to "love and serve the Lord".
As we continue to think of service and thankfulness - we remember and celebrate Sunday (Nov. 4th) the life of Don Shadbolt. Don's sons will be joining us at the 10am service to give thanks for their dad's life. As Don requested, he "didn't want a separate service of remembrance, but a celebration on a regular Sunday". Don's family will be helping to host a reception in the hall following the morning service at 10am - please come and join us for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
On Wednesday October 24th we are invited to join with local clergy and laity as we welcome our new Archdeacon - the Rev. Clara Plamondon. As we pray for Clara's new ministry amongst us, we secretly also pray for Clara's mom, Flo. Clara's new ministry will acknowledge that she will be for us the "representative of the Bishop's office" and will be a guide and prayer partner in our ministry together.
