Sunday December 18th at 3 pm “The Nutcracker”. Our Organist Jenny Vincent will be playing music from the Nutcracker and the story read by Pamela Brown. Any donations for the ministry of St Marks will be gratefully received.
Monday December 19th at 7 pm there will be a service of “Blue Christmas”. This is a service of Christmas Communion that is quieter and more reflective in nature – for those who might be needing a quiet and peaceful space during this holiday time.
Wednesday December 21st at 11:30 am we will be hosting our first Elder Tea. There will be an “old English” service of Communion followed by a Tea in the Parish Hall – we’ll be singing the Carols of Christmas and having our “Christmas Communion” together. Everyone is welcome.
Saturday December 24th, Christmas Eve will host 3 services of Holy Eucharist. The first service, at 3 pm, is a retelling of the Christmas story and is especially designed for younger families. We all have a costume headdress to wear; Angels or Shepherds or Royalty, and as we tell the story of the birth of Jesus, we create a “tableau” and get into the spirit of the Pageant. There is a more traditional “family” Eucharist beginning at 7 pm with “carol singing” beginning at 6:30. Then finally at 11 pm a traditional service of Holy Eucharist (or Midnight Mass) with a “carol sing” at 10:30 pm.
Sunday, December 25th, Sunday morning finds us at both 8:30 and 10 am celebrating the feast day of Christmas. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the “light who has come into the world”, the birth of Jesus.
