Sunday, October 20th, a hand-made altar frontal was gifted to St Mark’s Anglican Church at the 10am service. The Rev. Lily Bell of the Indigenous Anglican church on Haida Gwaii gave a stirring sermon talking of unity, forgiveness and healing. Chief Michael Recalma and Sandy Morter spoke about how the frontal was created in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, recognizing pictorially that we and our church live and work on the ancestral lands of the Kwakwaka’Wakw, Nuu-Chah-Nulth and Coast Salish Peoples. There was cake served after the service to all who attended. We thank Sandy, Michael and Lily Bell for taking part in this very special service.
